for students working on fish, frogs and toads in laboratory, sea-water, fresh-water and farming environments.
Syllabus includes
- General biology/physiology of fish with emphasis on systems affected by adverse welfare condition
- Biology, physiology, husbandry of zebra fish and the welfare implications of their use as an experimental model in medical science

The husbandry and handling of aquaria, farmed and wild fish and the impact (including diseases) on welfare of their use as experimental models

Welfare, stress and pain in fish
- Euthanasia and humane end-points
