Last-Ireland is a training programme and support structure to help the scientific community in Ireland to use animals in accordance with best international and national practices.
Certificates
The obtain your 'LAST' certificate the following conditions need to have been fulfilled.
1. Full attendance at all sessions of the course and have obtained appropriate marks in the examination. (overall 70% and 70% in module 0)
*2. For UK qualification in Rodents, obtained the appropiate Handling/Skills form signed by an approved training officer and submitted to certs@last-ireland.org. LAST Ireland can provide this training at a fee of 40 Euro. Forms signed by a training officer in authourised establishments are also acceptable.
3. Full payment of fees
* As of the 22/10/2014, for courses taken on or after this date, by agreement with the HPRA, this condition no longer applies to certificates issued by LAST Ireland. It will still be required for those who wish to obtain a UK UTG certificate.
Certificate will be issued by email as PDF file
To obtain a UTG UK (rodent) cert ( additional charge of 20 euro)
In addition to the above criteria you must have achieved at least 70% pass in the Modules 1,2 & 3 papers.
Certificate will be issued as a hard copy posted to your address. Please ensure we have a full postal address to send it to.
Training courses for researchers working with animals are run at least twice yearly in
Dublin.
Courses also are arranged in Cork and Galway
Universities in Ireland often accept the Modular training courses from the UK.
